Vercel

Manage Vercel projects, deployments, env vars, domains, DNS, and aliases via MCP. Connect with an access token.

Manual setup 41 tools

Overview

Connect Vercel so AI clients can manage projects, deployments, environment variables, domains, DNS, and aliases through the Vercel REST API.

stackgate.ai stores your access token encrypted and calls https://api.vercel.com on your behalf. Tool results are returned to your AI client for that request.

Prerequisites

  • A Vercel account
  • A stackgate.ai account

Getting credentials

  1. Sign in to Vercel and open Account Tokens (personal account Settings).
  2. Create a token with Full Account, Team, or Project scope. Prefer the narrowest scope that covers your tools.
  3. Copy the token once (often prefixed with vcp_).
  4. In stackgate.ai, open My Integrations → Vercel, paste the token, and click Connect & enable.
  5. Optionally choose a default team (organization) and project from the dropdowns, or skip.

Treat the token like a password. Revoke or rotate it in Vercel if it is exposed.

For full-account tokens targeting a team, set a default team so tools send teamId automatically. You can also set a default project. Team- and project-scoped tokens usually do not need a team default.

Using with AI clients

  • Dedicated endpoint: POST /mcp/vercel with a Sanctum bearer token
  • Private gateway: one config for all integrations - use vercel__* namespaced tools

See Documentation for HTTP authentication and private gateway setup.

Suggested workflow

  1. get_user / list_teams - confirm identity and team IDs.
  2. list_projects / get_project - find project ids or names.
  3. list_deployments / get_deployment / get_deployment_events - inspect status and builds.
  4. list_project_env / create_project_env - manage env vars carefully.
  5. promote_deployment / rollback_project - control production traffic.
  6. Domain, DNS, and alias tools for hostname management.

Troubleshooting

  • 422 integration not configured - paste an access token in My Integrations.
  • 401 Unauthorized - regenerate the token under Account Tokens and update My Integrations.
  • 403 Forbidden - the token scope or team role may lack permission for that resource.
  • Missing team resources - set a default team on the Vercel defaults page, or pass team_id on the tool call.
  • 429 Too many requests - Vercel enforces per-endpoint rate limits; wait and retry, and avoid tight polling loops.
  • Destructive actions - tools like delete_project, delete_deployment, and DNS deletes can cause outages; confirm intent before approving Write access.
