Browse and manage Postman workspaces, collections, and environments via the Postman API.
Overview
Connect Postman to let AI clients browse and manage your workspaces, collections, and environments programmatically.
Prerequisites
- A Postman account with API access
- A stackgate.ai account
Getting credentials
- Sign in to Postman.
- Open Settings → API keys and generate a new API key. Copy it somewhere safe.
- In stackgate.ai, open Integrations → Postman.
- Click Activate and paste your API key.
- If you use a Postman EU Enterprise account, set the API base URL to
https://api.eu.postman.com.
See the Postman API authentication docs for key management and permissions.
Using with AI clients
- Dedicated endpoint:
POST /mcp/postmanwith a Sanctum bearer token - Private gateway: one config for all integrations — use
postman__*namespaced tools
See Documentation for HTTP authentication and private gateway setup.
Troubleshooting
- 422 integration not configured — complete the credential form in My Integrations with your API key.
- 401 Unauthorized — regenerate the API key in Postman and update your integration credentials.
- 403 Forbidden — your Postman plan or region may not include the requested feature.
- 429 Too many requests — Postman rate limits list endpoints to 10 calls per 10 seconds; wait before retrying.
- Collection or environment not found — use the full UID (
userId-itemId) from list tools, not the bare item UUID.
