Overview

Search public MakerWorld 3D models and creators from AI clients. Look up a design, list its public print profiles, and open the official MakerWorld page.

This integration uses the public Bambu Lab catalog API. It does not download 3MF files or print to a printer. Download here means the MakerWorld model page link (https://makerworld.com/en/models/{id}-{slug}).

Prerequisites

  • A stackgate.ai account

Getting credentials

  1. Open Integrations → MakerWorld.
  2. Click Activate - no MakerWorld account or API key is needed.

stackgate.ai identifies itself to the catalog with a hub User-Agent. Shared hub fair-use limits apply to every call.

Using with AI clients

  • Dedicated endpoint: POST /mcp/makerworld
  • Private gateway: makerworld__* tools

Typical workflow: search models → get model → list print files (profile metadata + page links) → search creators → get creator.

If you paste a MakerWorld URL, extract the numeric design id from /models/{id}-slug. Creator lookup needs the numeric uid from search results, not a handle.

Troubleshooting

  • Hub quota exceeded (429) - daily fair-use limits apply. Wait until tomorrow (UTC) or reduce how often you search.
  • Model or creator not found (404) - confirm the numeric design id or creator uid.
  • Invalid id (400) - get_creator rejects handles. Use the numeric uid from search_creators.
  • CAPTCHA (418) - the hub IP was challenged. Retry later.
  • No 3MF download - print files are public profile listings plus MakerWorld page links. Open the model in a browser to download files from MakerWorld.
  • Attribution - catalog data comes from MakerWorld. Follow MakerWorld terms when you reuse listings.

    Search public MakerWorld models by keyword. Returns id, title, slug, cover, counts, and creator. Build the model page as https://makerworld.com/en/models/{id}-{slug}.

  • get_model

    Get public MakerWorld model metadata by numeric design_id. Include the model page URL https://makerworld.com/en/models/{id}-{slug}. Does not download 3MF files.

  • list_print_files

    List public print profiles for a MakerWorld model (title, profileId, creator, covers). Return profile page links as https://makerworld.com/en/models/{design_id}#profileId-{profileId}. Does not download 3MF files.

  • search_creators

    Search public MakerWorld creators by keyword. Use the numeric uid from hits with get_creator. Creator page: https://makerworld.com/en/@{handle}.

  • get_creator

    Get a public MakerWorld creator profile by numeric uid from search_creators. Handles are not accepted. Include https://makerworld.com/en/@{handle}.
