Gigahost

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to Gigahost via MCP. Manage DNS, servers, and web hosting with a Flux API key.

Manual setup 43 tools

Example questions

Try asking your AI client

  • Which DNS records are on the marketing zone right now?

  • Did the www A record Jack asked for ever get added?

  • Summarize Gigahost servers that are powered off or in an odd state.

  • Write a draft DNS change for a mail MX record - do not apply it.

  • Which web hosting accounts have SSL that expires soon?

Overview

Connect Gigahost so AI clients can manage DNS, servers, and web hosting through the Gigahost API.

stackgate.ai stores your Flux API key encrypted and calls https://api.gigahost.no/api/v0 on your behalf. Tool results are returned to your AI client for that request.

Prerequisites

  • A Gigahost account with access to Flux
  • A stackgate.ai account

Getting credentials

  1. Sign in to Flux.
  2. Open Account → API keys and create a personal API key.
  3. Grant only the areas you need (dns, servers, webhosting, billing, account). Use read unless you want Write tools. You can also limit DNS, servers, or web hosting to specific resource IDs.
  4. Copy the secret once. It starts with flux_live_ and is shown only at creation.
  5. In stackgate.ai, open My Integrations → Gigahost, paste the token, and click Connect & enable.
  6. After connect, use Edit tool access to keep the hub on Read-only if the key is write-capable.

Treat the token like a password. Rotate or delete it in Flux if it is exposed.

See the Gigahost API documentation for key permissions.

Using with AI clients

  • Dedicated endpoint: POST /mcp/gigahost with a Sanctum bearer token
  • Private gateway: one config for all integrations - use gigahost__* namespaced tools

See Documentation for HTTP authentication and private gateway setup.

Suggested workflow

  1. get_account - confirm the key and account.
  2. list_dns_zones / list_dns_records - inspect DNS, then create or update records.
  3. list_servers / get_server - find server IDs before power or snapshot tools.
  4. get_server_power_state before reboot_server, power_on_server, or power_off_server. Those tools change machine state even though Gigahost implements them as GET.
  5. list_webhosting_accounts then emails, databases, SSL, and backups.
  6. list_invoices and list_deploy_catalog for billing and product info. Catalog listing does not place an order.

Troubleshooting

  • 422 integration not configured - paste a Flux API key in My Integrations.
  • 401 Unauthorized - regenerate the key in Flux and update My Integrations. The full secret is shown only once.
  • 403 Forbidden - the key is missing an area permission (dns, servers, webhosting, billing, account) or is limited to other resource IDs. Hub Read/Write tool access is separate from Flux key permissions.
  • DNS record delete failed - include name and type as well as record_id.
  • Registered zone cannot be deleted - protected Norid domains stay until they expire or are transferred.
  • Destructive actions - power off, reboot, and DNS deletes can cause outages. Confirm intent before approving Write access.
